Oblivious 3

If you've seen the first 2 shots in this sequence you'll know the story . . .

This is shot on Cable Beach at Broome. . . Two cars were pulled up on the beach. Two familes. Two mums sitting in chairs watching the sunset. 4 or 5 kids running around. Two dads had pinched their kids buckets and spades and were frantically building this series of sandcastles (The Great Wall of Cable). It seemed that they were racing two things - the sunset, and the schooner reaching the sun before it set.

As you can see the schooner won. It reached the sun while it was still on the horizon. . . The castle builders failed - just. . . I think they miscalculated. If all things had been equal they might have reached the waterline before the schooner reached the sun - but they didn't count on the 9 metre tides of Broome. The tide was receding almost as fast as they were building their castles.

Having failed in such a noble quest, what would you do? . . . Go and have a few beers I imagine.
