Thick-skinned

I love this eucalypt tree. . . It's been totally gutted, but it's going to survive. . . In fact this is probably not the first fire it's lived through. . . I should be able to learn something from this!

This shot is for tracie76. Being a fellow Aussie she'll have seen plenty of trees like this. It's amazing how they survive the worst fire-storms. . . The grass plant in the foreground shows the same survival skills. Everything above the ground - burnt; a few weeks later - new green growth.
