lingerie calendar

Thanks to everybody who voted in my polls to narrow down entries for my 2011 lingerie calendar. The results (in terms of proportion of vote - over 3 polls) are below. . . I will select 13 of those images, trying to provide variety. There are quite a few similar images and some models appear often.

New polls are going up for my glamour calendar :)

Thanks to everyone who voted in the polls to select images for the calendar. It's out now.

The calendar can now be viewed (and purchased) on Red Bubble

Calendar sizes are 30 cm by 42 cms - they are huge! so it's a good cheap way to get a bunch of prints.

With the swimsuit and fashion polls I wasn't surprised by the poll results . . . I was a lot more surprised with the sunset polls. A number of my personal faves didn't rate at all. Boats at sunset provided very little interest :(

New polls are going up for my lingerie calendar :)

The poll for calendar cover was a run away winner for Stacey caped.

The next poll will be for calendar cover. . . This image needs to be portrait rather than landscape and needs to be eye-catching.

calendars

I'm starting to put together my 2011 calendars and I'm after your help. First calendar = swimsuit. . . I'll be putting up polls over the next few days to find out the most popular images; then I'll be after the cover image. Voting is not based on these journal features. . . Check out the separate polls. Voting is on the impact of the image - not on the model.

If anyone knows how to create a poll that allows people to vote for 3 or 4 of the options please let me know . . .

school friends - stacey, charis, thalia, haywire

these young ladies all went to the one school a few years ago and all have been featured here in recent weeks . . . I'm not asking you to nominate a fave here - I'm just amazed that all these beautiful women were at one stage sitting in a classroom together.

Jaimie :iconjay2010:

Terrific news. . . Gorgeous Jaimie (who has only been modelling for a few months) has received a wild card entry into the national finals of Miss Bikini World Australia - which includes 10 days in tropical Darwin. . . At first there were issues over whether her work would allow her to go. They refused, but have now relented. . . She leaves in a little over a week. . . BUT it's not easy. . . Her accommodation and meals are paid for in Darwin but she needs to get an evening gown and pay for her flights. The flights are AUS$740.

Are there any photographers on the east coast of Australia (she is based in Newcastle) who would like to advance book Jaimie for a paid shoot? I can testify that she's one of the best models I've ever worked with, and as you can see in my gallery her beauty is incomparable.

Some of her images appear below. . . This is her Model Mayhem link:
[link]
and her email - please only use this for photo shoot offers:
jaimie_ridley@hotmail.com
Please help Jaimie go to Darwin and compete in the competition. It means so much to her.

A coal transporter, taking an illegal shortcut through the Great Barrier Reef, grounded on some shoals not very far from one of my favourite islands, Great Keppel. This happened a few days ago and it seems that initial fears may not be realised. There was fuel spillage but not as great as was first thought. Still the fuel and dispersant could cause reef damage - and the ship is still grounded.

When I heard this news I was very worried . . . I adore wild and wonderful Great Keppel. I first went there as a teenager in 1969 and fell in love with the place - deserted white beaches, snorkelling through the coral close to shore - a true paradise. . . My wife and I had a very belated honeymoon there, and we subsequently holidayed there with our children several times. My last trip there was in 2003 and the photos below were taken then - with an average film camera - and the scans are not of high quality. As well as photographing the scenery I had the good fortune of meeting up with a friend Alicia for a shoot, and bumping into two German backpackers. One of them, Imke, appears below.

I might put up some retrospectives of favourite shoots . . . A few of you will remember Elizabeth and this shoot at Middle Head. It was 5 years ago! It gave me my first DD and a lot of my first watchers on DA. It's an old film shoot, the resolution isn't up to scratch - but I hope it's pleasing to old watchers and revealing to new chums . . . This was Elizabeth's first real shoot - in fact she only did 2 or 3 shoots - never did take modeling seriously - but what an amazingly beautiful young woman.

I've recently opened a facebook fan page for Wild Places Photography - a way of updating people quickly about my shoots. Please join up if you're interested - and thanks to those who have done so.

Ballerina Cassie :iconcassie-m:

I love it when a random contact leads to a great photo shoot and a terrific photographer/model relationship. This has happened quite a few times in the past and it's just happened again! A second shoot with Cassie two weeks after the first - and on a much better day - and exploring one of Cassie's passions - ballet. There's a mix of ballet and glamour shots coming through in this shoot. . . And while you're checking out her ballet shots please check out the other shots in her gallery - and I strongly suggest you check out some rather different ballet shots of Cassie by my friend and fellow photographer :iconandre-j:

Carismatic Cassie :iconcassie-m:

A friend request on Model Mayhem from a young lady who lives nearly three hours away. By chance I have another shoot in that area the next day - and I have to check out a wedding venue there. Any chance you'd be free for a shoot tomorrow? I'll be up your way. . . I wasn't expecting a yes - but was pleased to receive an enthusiastic 'sure' . . . It was supposed to rain that day - but it held off. Admittedly it got pretty gloomy by the time we got to the beach and those shots would have been better with kinder light. BUT what a joy to meet up with super-charismatic Cassie - such a lovely lady and such a beautiful one! Please enjoy the fruits of our first shoot. We're both keen to make sure it's not our only shoot.

Anyone having problems in the last couple of days with the images they're uploading?

I'm finding most of them are coming up on DA really washed out. I'm having to go back and push up the contrast and saturation to a very high level, and resubmit. Even then the results are rather insipid.

I've never noticed this happening in the past.

Any ideas?
Sitting at my computer an hour or two ago on this hot Australia Day evening. It hit 38 around here today (over 100 F). Through my window I see a red flare descending and stop - presumably in a tree in the bush over the gully - in my backyard. It flared red for a while then disappeared. I went outside and watched. A few minutes later flames started on the ground. It had fallen from the tree where it had temporarily lodged. Clever to set off big fireworks in midsummer in a high fire risk area.
I called the brigade. Three tenders arrived. The fire was half way up the very steep hill on the other side of our creek. Very rugged territory. I had to show the rural fire service guys how to get to where the fire was. I hadn't climbed up that cliff for about 15 years and rarely at night. Fun.
The fire wasn't going anywhere fast - tonight. But if it had remained alive overnight it would have taken off when the heat built up tomorrow. Might have had a fun day protecting the house. Done that a few times before!
Oh well.

I may not be around much in the next week or two - uploading images or commenting or responding. My 85 year old mother had a stroke a couple of months back and has just been released from hospital. I'll be living at her place as of Saturday - not sure for how long - helping her adjust to independent living. I won't have internet access there. I'll get on line occasionally when somebody relieves me of my caring duties.

Thanks for the amazing recent support from so many watchers. I've been going berserk uploading images from 7 recent shoots. So your message box will get a bit of a break in coming days!

Lauren
[link]

Below are some images of amazing new model Lauren. I'm so impressed with her.

A chance response to a comment on mermaid images led to an encounter with an amazing young lady - Monday. A few days later I drove down to Canberra to shoot with three lovely ladies - two whom I had previously known - and magnificent Monday. We shot in several locations  and created some magic, I think. Monday has beauty, emotional depth, physical agility and great creativity - as well as a love for pin-up style and corsetry. And she's also really nice!

Please enjoy some touches of Monday magic . . .

I have been very fortunate with finding fabulous models in recent weeks. And Saturday was no exception. I had to drive an hour and a half each way for a half hour meeting with wedding clients. On two days notice I threw out a request to a very new model in the area and she jumped at the offer - and she turned out to be gold! Just about her first shoot - and what a beautiful young woman. . . She hasn't joined DA at this stage, but please enjoy her images.

I just spent a weekend in Canberra and had the delight of shooting with three models - my lovely friend Emma :iconpinkllama123: . . . my newly discovered friend Monday :iconcupidofchaos: - and my old DA buddy who I'd never met before, Hannah :iconwoofna19:

So my gallery will be pretty confusing over the next few weeks as I'll be submitting images from those three shoots - plus from three recent shoots that are still going strong - Stacey (who isn't on DA), Peach :iconwhitepeach: and Angel :iconangeldragonfly:  . . . And I'm still going through my shots from a Queensland trip a couple of months back . . . Anyhow hope you enjoy the variety.
